Inking and watercolouring a graphic recipe

Simple and beautiful. Michi Mathias' very, very quick and very, very easy vegan recipes. What's lovely about them is that the ingredients are shown as pen and ink drawings rather than tiny lists that you need to go and get your glasses (from wherever you left them) for. These recipe booklets are beautiful and the green lentil dish I made took no time, was healthy and delicious, and didn't cost much. I would recommend as a gift especially for someone wanting to try out vegan dishes with no time and not much budget."

How it all started

JJ’s Graphic Recipes were rather rough black and white line drawings, intended just for my 18-year-old son when he went to Uni. I was surprised and delighted when other people wanted them, so printed a small booklet.

JJ and I were interviewed on the breakfast show on BBC Radio Sussex

and one of the recipes made it into the Guardian’s ‘We love to eat’ feature.
