I have to admit #Inktober was a bit of a struggle this year. Well, I suppose it’s meant to be: an ink drawing every day of October was never going to be easy, and if it is, then what’s the point of it being a challenge? My initial plan was to draw something I was eating each day, in the form of graphic recipes (similar to what I’ve previously self-published as a booklet). So some of the first week ones were nice and simple, but gradually they turned into full-on full-page diagrams and I had a hard time keeping up, and coming up with good different ones each day. Finished a day late, on 1 November. |
The plan now is to collect all of these graphic recipes and print them as is -- rough drawing, awkward spacing, ink splodges and all -- as a ‘zine. Zines are traditionally handmade and imperfect, so this will do for now. At least the images will be far clearer than the ones posted online so far, as I’ll scan them instead of just photographing them.
If you think you might be interested in a copy when they’re ready, let me know. Or check back here in a couple of weeks or so.
